Sporting a Farrah-meets-Blondie do, GWEN STEFANI made the rounds with NATALIE IMBRUGLIA at the L.A. premiere of the swinging rave flick Go, whose soundtrack includes tunes by NO DOUBT and Imbruglia. “We don’t have any time constraints on our next record, but we wanted to put something out in the meantime,” Stefani said. “ ‘New’ is an older song, but after seeing the movie, it seemed perfect for it.” The night out was a break in recording for No Doubt, who have been in the studio since March. “Our approach is to constantly push ourselves as song-writers,” said bassist TONY KANAL. “We’re incorporating new sounds and technology that wasn’t available to us before.” The album, produced by GLEN BALLARD, is due this fall. “Glen is extremely focused,” Stefani said. “He’s brought confidence back to us in a way that we’ve not had in a long time.”
