Jeremy’s pieces have always caught my eye. He has a real sense of humor, and he seems to love a lot of the same things I always have, like Vivienne Westwood and Japanese pop culture. It’s sort of a Pop Art sensibility. I started wearing him when he did his first Adidas collaboration; the way he reimagined the class tracksuit, giving it a punk twist, it reminded me of some of my early No Doubt looks. I’ve been wearing Jeremy consistently, ever since then.
The first time I actually met Jeremy, it was in 2004, during my Love.Angel.Music.Baby promo tour in Paris. We met in the lobby of my hotel. He’s always been incredibly supportive, not just of my music career, but of my work in fashion, too. Like, he’s come to my shows in New York and Los Angeles. I’m so grateful for that support—it means a lot, coming from such a special person and unique talent.
I have to say, I’ve really been enjoying his collections for Moschino these past few years, and I wear pieces from the line both onstage and on the street. One of my absolute favorite looks was the green slime dress of his that I wore at the 2017 Kids’ Choice Awards. Green slime, green hair, green eyeshadow.
