Gwen Stefani Reveals the Adorable Inspiration Behind Her No-Makeup Selfie (Hint: Blake Shelton Was on Her Mind)

Blake Shelton is one lucky man.

Gwen Stefani opened up about her no-makeup selfie that she posted to her Instagram last week, saying she was simply trying to take a cute picture to send to her boyfriend, Shelton.

“I was laying there, I just got in bed and I was like, ‘Maybe I’ll send a picture to Blake,’ ” she told PEOPLE at the 102.7 KIIS FM’s 2016 Wango Tango on Saturday. “You just start fooling around with it. I actually had a new camera on my phone and I just took that picture.”

Stefani said after finding a picture she liked, she just decided on a whim to post it to her social media account.

“I probably took about 10. That one looked cute and I was like, ‘I’ll just post it,’ ” she said.

The “Misery” singer, 46, who is known for rocking bold lip colors and daring hair styles, shared the bare-faced snap on Thursday with her 4 million followers, posting it without a caption.

Stefani not only went totally sans cosmetics in the shot, but she also left her blonde mane effortlessly tousled.

Fans were quick to comment on the snap, writing messages like, “Such a beauty!!!” and “You look so pretty with no makeup.”
