The best things in life take time--just ask style icon Gwen Stefani.

It requires quite a stretch of imagination to see Gwen Stefani--she of the confidence-blazing red lips, the hit line L.A.M.B., and the chart-topping anthems--as, of all things, a band geek. "But I was! Seriously. I played the piccolo," insists Gwen. "But I'm okay with my geeky self. I spent a lot of my teen years worrying about my appearance. Now I just look back and think, That's what has made me who I am!"

And if the best things in life come to those who wait, Gwen's new L.A.M.B. scent, L, is sure to be a success. "I've been working on the fragrance for more than two years," she says. "I've always been a girly girl. I'm obsessed with makeup, hair, perfume, and all that delicious stuff!" The fragrance is, according to Gwen, a "fresh mash-up" of florals (like jasmine and orange blossom), fruits (peach and pear), and a touch of musk. "I wanted to create something that would make people turn their heads and say, I want that!'" she explains.

With Gwen's track record, there's no doubt that her wishes will come true.
