Stefani’s Solo Show

After The Voice, Gwen preps to reclaim the stage

It's bananas, says Gwen Stefani, that her last concert was almost seven years ago. "After that show, I came home and found out I was pregnant with Zuma," she tells Us. "And he's 6!" Now, the No Doubt singer, 45, will stage her long-awaited comeback with an intimate L.A. gig on February 7. "There are so many layers to putting on a show," says the star, also mom of Kingston, 8, and Apollo, 11 months (with husband Gavin Rossdále, 49). "I love the challenge of it, but it's exhausting!" The California native faces the music with Us.

Q: What has the prep been like?

It's been bizarre. I'm gonna do a few new songs, but I've also been listening to stuff I haven't heard in... well, I mean, it's not like I sit around listening to my own records, you know?

Q: Did your fellow Voice coaches motivate you to get back into the studio?

The Voice was inspiring. And just being around Pharrell [Williams] makes you want to create things. He's a genius!

Q: Does that mean you would take another spin in the red chair?

I'd love to do it again. There are so many people I'd love to have as a dream mentor, like Joni Mitchell or Bette Midler.

Q: Do Kingston and Zuma understand what you do for a living?

They were into The Voice at first, then they were over it. They're not really all about me. It's all about them'.
