What's Gwen waiting for? Just her keys...

It’s every householder's nightmare: pulling the front door shut behind you only to realise you've forgotten the keys. But it's even worse when you're a celebrity and six months pregnant to boot, as sassy pop star Gwen Stefani discovered.

When the What You Waiting For? singer stepped out to walk pet sheepdog Winston in London's fashionable Primrose Hill, she found herself locked out of her home. Worse still, her rock musician husband, Bush's Gavin Rossdale, wouldn't be around to let her back in for the next six hours.

And she didn't even have a mobile phone.

Says the Californian-born singer, 36, who was out of doors for six hours: 'I'd just come off tour and I went to take the dog out for a run.

'I shut the door and knew right away that I'd locked myself out of the house. I had no money, no keys, no phone - just the dog and me - and it was Paparazzi Central.

'Gavin had gone to play tennis and our assistant happened not to be in.'

And there was further embarrassment in store for the star when she ran into a crowd of her adoring fans.

Says a rueful Gwen: 'I met all these kids at the park who liked me and my old band No Doubt - but I was sweaty from my run. Not a good day.'
