Blake Shelton discusses his CD, "Pure BS Deluxe Edition," and performs "Home"
HARRY SMITH, co-host: Country star Blake Shelton is on a roll. Since 2001, he's had a string of number one hits, and his new single, "Home," is following the same path. It recently hit number one on the Billboard country charts. The song is on Shelton's "Pure BS Deluxe Edition," a re-release of last year's "Pure BS." And Blake Shelton is with us this morning.
Mr. BLAKE SHELTON ("Pure BS Deluxe Edition"): What's so funny?
SMITH: I just took pleasure in being able to say that on television this morning.
Mr. SHELTON: Good.
SMITH: Had about as much pleasure as you did putting it out, I'm sure.
Mr. SHELTON: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
SMITH: But the CD has been out for a while.
Mr. SHELTON: Mm-hmm.
SMITH: And would you recommend everybody getting divorced if they wanted to really write an album full of rich country music?
Mr. SHELTON: Well, it's--I mean, it's definitely country music. And that's what we do, I think, is drink beer and hurt each other, so that's what--that's what it's all about. So, definitely.
SMITH: It's a pleasure to have you here. Do you mind singing "Home" for us this morning?
Mr. SHELTON: I'd love to. I'd love to.
SMITH: Great to see you. Thanks, pal.
Mr. SHELTON: You too, man.
SMITH: You bet.
