Blake Shelton

HODA KOTB: Okay, I can't believe this is happening right here.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Right now.

HODA KOTB: We're with the one, the only Blake Shelton.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Blake Shelton.

BLAKE SHELTON: Hello.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Hello, dreamboat.

BLAKE SHELTON: You're so full of crap, I love you. I love you, though. I love you.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Well, I'm just saying what she's thinking.

HODA KOTB: Exactly. I got the thought bubble. You want to do the rest of his intro?

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: We all know he needs no introduction. But we are going to do it anyway. Not only is he one of the judges of NBC's The Voice--

HODA KOTB: Yeah.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: But Blake has been country music's male vocalist of the year, let's count them, one, two, three, four times.

HODA KOTB: Four times. And now get this; he's out with his 11th studio album called--

BLAKE SHELTON: 11th?

HODA KOTB: Bringing Back the Sunshine. What were the other ten? I don't remember.

BLAKE SHELTON: I don't either. That's what I was just thinking. My God, you know, you make records.

(Cross talking)

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: (Unintelligible).

BLAKE SHELTON: Yeah, gosh, dang, I thought I won that award three times, four times? I'm going to go with what that says.

HODA KOTB: Yeah, you probably did. You probably won four.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: And it never gets old, I would think.

BLAKE SHELTON: No. That's what I mean, it's like--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: You-- because you forget things.

BLAKE SHELTON: Well the stuff goes by so fast, you know what I mean? Especially lately and then you're looking like--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Well, how do they get award shows-- so many in the country music world now, every other week and you guys are at another award show.

BLAKE SHELTON: I know.

HODA KOTB: Uh-hh.

BLAKE SHELTON: I think there's too many awards shows, myself.

HODA KOTB: You do?

BLAKE SHELTON: Yes, I mean--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Maybe one or two.

BLAKE SHELTON: My Gosh, I mean, there's just the right amount of-- I should take that back. There is-- there is-- I wish there was more awards shows. I sound ungrateful when I say that, but there's a lot of them.

HODA KOTB: Let's talk about The Voice. How are Gwen Stefani who is awesome and Pharrell? How are they?

BLAKE SHELTON: You know what, I had met Pharrell before at some award show. And so I kind of knew him. He is a nice guy. And he actually had been on The Voice a time or two performing.

HODA KOTB: Yeah.

BLAKE SHELTON: And so I met him and-- and I knew he was a really nice guy. And I didn't-- I had never met Gwen and I had-- I didn't know anybody that knew her either really, you know what I mean.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: She's a quiet person, isn't she?

BLAKE SHELTON: I know, it sounds like oh my Gosh, she's going to be like freak or something, you know.

HODA KOTB: You know things.

BLAKE SHELTON: She is the most-- I can recognize people-- she is the most normal person I have met in Hollywood yet. And I'm including Carson. And Carson is a little bit off.

HODA KOTB: Carson is crazy.

BLAKE SHELTON: Yeah.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: He's off in a good way.

BLAKE SHELTON: Right. But-- but Gwen is like, the only thing different about her-- she uses the word rad. She still uses the word rad.

HODA KOTB: Because she is who she is. She doesn't care.

BLAKE SHELTON: I know. I love her. I love her.

HODA KOTB: So you got a great album out, your 11th. Neon Lights, you've been talking about all over the place.

BLAKE SHELTON: Mm-Hm.

HODA KOTB: That's off and you're going to play another one for us a little later today.

BLAKE SHELTON: A new song finally--

HODA KOTB: A new song.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Is this a new Blake that we should be excited about or- -

BLAKE SHELTON: It's just same old Blake that you're tired of.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: I might be the only one though.

BLAKE SHELTON: Oh by the way, I was here-- I was not here, I was watching y'all, I watch y'all every morning and I was watching whenever you played Boys 'Round Here and saw the look of disgust--

HODA KOTB: Yes.

BLAKE SHELTON: --at least pretend like you like my songs.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: I can't pretend.

BLAKE SHELTON: That's why I make that guilt and stuff about you all the time, at least act like.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: I like a lot of your stuff. Not that one so much.

BLAKE SHELTON: I know-- I know.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Hey listen, you brought your guitar. Is there a reason for that?

BLAKE SHELTON: I did.

HODA KOTB: Why?

BLAKE SHELTON: Because I want to hear some music. Don't you want to hear some music?

HODA KOTB: We do.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Yes.

BLAKE SHELTON: Well, this is perfectly in tune and I heard you've been taking guitar lessons. And I have a thing for you--

HODA KOTB: No.

BLAKE SHELTON: I have thing for you on this show before--

HODA KOTB: Oh my God, I can't--

BLAKE SHELTON: Impromptu--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Do you have a pick?

BLAKE SHELTON: No.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Okay, she doesn't need one.

HODA KOTB: I don't remember.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: She says this is a G note.

HODA KOTB: Wait, I need a pick, you don't have one?

BLAKE SHELTON: No, you'll get over it.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: She calls that a G-note-

HODA KOTB: Wait, wait. Down, down, up, down, down up, up, down, down up.

BLAKE SHELTON: Sounds like a Katy Perry song, doesn't it?

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: That is chorus, Hoda.

HODA KOTB: Okay--

BLAKE SHELTON: You were saying something--

HODA KOTB: I don't remember-- I don't remember Country Road, how does it go? G--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Country Roads.

HODA KOTB: No, I don't--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Country Roads.

HODA KOTB: That is rude. This is terrible.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Take me home.

HODA KOTB: Wait, d, d, d, d.

BLAKE SHELTON (singing): To the place.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD (singing): Place, I be--

HODA KOTB: Is it G? No, no, no.

BLAKE SHELTON: It's E minor, go back to the E minor.

HODA KOTB: E minor, yeah.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD (singing): West Virginia.

HODA KOTB: G?

BLAKE SHELTON: No, no, no, no.

HODA KOTB: C, C, C, C.

BLAKE SHELTON: Yeah, C

HODA KOTB: Whoops. Hold on, hold on, hold on.

BLAKE SHELTON: That's not right either.

HODA KOTB: It's close.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: It's just close.

BLAKE SHELTON: (Unintelligible)

HODA KOTB: Come on. Do something.

BLAKE SHELTON: Oh, my God. We're on TV right now and you totally screwed it up. Oh, boy.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Hey she's only just started about four months ago. Give her a break.

HODA KOTB: I have lessons. You're not going to play anything?

BLAKE SHELTON: Hell no, I wanted to hear you play.

HODA KOTB: That is terrible.

BLAKE SHELTON: Come on, man. This is your big break.

HODA KOTB: Now I'm embarrassed about my--.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: You're going to get a record deal.

HODA KOTB: No, no I'm embarrassed in front of my fake boyfriend.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: First of all, your wife looks so darn hot these days. It is going to make her angry for me to say this, but she looks amazing.

BLAKE SHELTON: You told me, yeah she told me that.

HODA KOTB: I told you, she looks great.

(Cross talking)

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: (Unintelligible) you know, what I'm saying.

BLAKE SHELTON: I don't really know what you're saying. She does look-- she looks amazing.

HODA KOTB: She looks awesome. Congrats on everything, Blake.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: We love you.

BLAKE SHELTON: Hold, look at her boobs right there.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: I know.

BLAKE SHELTON: Two of them.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: Two nice-- nice ones.

BLAKE SHELTON: Yeah.

HODA KOTB: All right--

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: We have to go.

HODA KOTB: We got to go, it's time to go.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: You're going to sing for us in a little bit.

HODA KOTB: That was rude.

(Cross talking)

BLAKE SHELTON: No, I didn't know the chords to my song. At least learn the chords.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: You can also catch him on The Voice Monday and Tuesday night here on NBC. We got much more.

BLAKE SHELTON: Down up, down up, down up.

KATHIE LEE GIFFORD: But first these messages.
