Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton is super busy this summer, planning a wedding and promoting "All About Tonight," his just released "six pak" of songs, with concerts including tonight's at Desert Diamond Casino.

We couldn't get the 34-year-old Oklahoma native on the phone to chat, so we scanned his recent interviews and discovered that he's mostly talking about his upcoming nuptials to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert.

The pair have become country music superstars since they first started dating in 2006, including Lambert's sweep of the 2009 Academy of Country Music Awards (top female vocalist, album, song, single, video of the year) and Shelton's ACM for vocal event of the year ("Hillbilly Bone" with Trace Adkins).

Here are five things we learned:

--The wedding date: Not set yet, but the bride is shooting for spring and scouting locations now in Texas. --The Oklahoman, Aug. 13.

--His role in the planning: "I'm not planning a wedding at all. I'm just agreeing to plans as I find out... I figured out the best thing to do is throw out a lot of OMGs... 'OMG! That's what I was thinking! I love you.' " --www.fox17.com (WZTV Nashville), Aug. 9

Who he'd love to have as his wedding singer: "Hands down, no question, Neal McCoy." --theboot.com, Aug. 11

--Best men and women standing by: "I'm excited to get married to Miranda. We're not doing a best girl or a best man. We're just doing our seven or eight best friends in the world." --countrymusicrocksnet.blogspot.com, Aug. 13

--Red-velvet groom's cake: "If there's one thing that I know the guy has the say-so in it's what the groom cake looks like. For me it's going to be an animal with red velvet on the inside. So when I cut it, especially if it's a cat, cut its head off. I'm going to eat the head portion of my cat cake." --The Associated Press, Aug. 11
