Five questions with Blake Shelton

Oklahoma native Blake Shelton has been honing his performance skills since he was a teenager singing tunes in honky-tonk bars. He has gone on to tour with some of the biggest names in country music, serve as a celebrity guest judge on Nashville Star and, most recently, sponsored a team on NBC's Clash of The Choirs. (They came in third overall.) ATR caught up with this tall drink of water to find out what's next for his musical career.

ATR: Congratulations on a job well done with NBC's Clash of the Choirs. What was the biggest challenge while working on that show?

BS: The biggest challenge was being able to contain myself and not show how nervous I was in front of my choir. It means a lot to them and me, too.

ATR: You're no stranger to television. What's a reality TV show that you would absolutely never want to be a guest star on and why?

BS: Dancing with the Stars. I don't think they have enough insurance to cover the damages to the studio and the injuries to my own body (and others) as a result of me trying to dance!

ATR: Your album is titled Pure BS, so it's obvious you have a great sense of humor. What inspired that title?

BS: Ever since I was a kid I wanted to put "BS" on the back of my tour bus, if I ever had one. Since I never did that, I decided it was time to go ahead and incorporate my initials into my career, especially now that people are catching on to my sense of humor.

ATR: What's next for Blake Shelton?

BS: Holidays with family and a few more hunting trips, a little down time around the campfire and then a full year of touring, beginning with New Year's Eve in Lexington, Ky.

ATR: Lastly, what's one question that no one has ever asked you in an interview but you have always wanted to answer?

BS: Oh, what? I hate questions like that.
