Blake Shelton’s charm will shine on new NBC show

Blake Shelton has one of the best - and funniest - personalities on Music Row, so many music insiders believe he's a natural to host a television talk show.

He has a treasure-trove of one-liners and a delivery that rivals a stand-up comedian's. Perhaps you've seen some of his off-the-cuff remarks during CMT shows.

On Monday, the rest of the nation will discover what Music Row has known for years because he is one of the celebrities competing in the NBC reality show Clash of the Choirs, which airs at 7 p.m.

He'll compete against Patti LaBelle, Michael Bolton, Nick Lachey and Kelly Rowland to form the best choir. (Read more about the show in Sunday's new Arts & Entertainment section.)

Is Blake interested in hosting a TV show?

"That would be a lot easier than what I'm doing," quips the country singer.

Then, turning serious, he says, "No, not really. Not at this time.

"I'm still so mixed up in country music that I don't think I would be interested in anything other than learning how to win in the country music industry first before I move on to something else. They're going to have to kick me out before I try something else."
